Its recommended that a woman breastfeed for the entire first year of her child's life. Babies are not born with a strong immune system. When you breastfeed your baby you are actually providing your baby with antibodies that will establish the babies immune system. That will help your baby be a healthy baby. Breastfeeding will also help the new mom lose those extra pounds gained throughout her pregnancy.

Aside from breastfeeding you will also give your baby the milk formula recommended by your pediatrician. Keep in mind that babies' stomach is weak and that it might take your baby some time to adjust to the new milk. To help your baby retain the milk add a pinch of baby cereal , make sure to shake the bottle. Aside from  helping your baby retain the milk in the baby stomach, this will help the baby sleep sounder and deeper.
