One of the hardest tasks of a new parent is getting their newborn baby to sleep through the night. This task can be very stressful for the new parent and the newborn. Lack of sleep can leave you unable to concentrate and very frustrated.

Newborn babies usually sleep all day in the first four weeks. And wake up every two hours at night to eat. It’s impossible to try to keep your baby awake during the day in the first weeks. Therefore, you will need to follow a consistent bedtime routine.

You can help your baby sleep all night with these simple steps.

Step 1: Stop feeding your baby at night

Step 2: Make sure your baby is clean, comfortable and fed before putting to bed.

Step 3: Make sure that the room is at the right temperature

Step 4: Dim the light of the room.

Step 5: Put your baby in his/her crib awake. Giving your baby time to settle down and find
a comfortable position to fall asleep. If your baby has trouble settling down, Make sure to check his/her diaper making sure it is dry and clean. Every baby cries for a reason.  The baby may have gas, if the baby keeps crying; a pacifier might do the trick. Make sure to remove the pacifier as soon as baby falls asleep.

Step 6: To help prevent a flat head, make sure to  rotate your baby's sleeping positions daily.
